Section 01

Emergency Procedures

At Sareh, your safety is our highest priority. Our property is equipped with a state-of-the-art fire detection and emergency evacuation system to help ensure the wellbeing of all guests.

In the event of an emergency, alarm bells will sound throughout the building. If no staff member is immediately available, follow these procedures:

Alert

  • If you discover a fire, activate the nearest fire alarm (if accessible) and call 000 for emergency services.
  • Clearly state your location and the nature of the emergency.

Assembly point

  • Proceed to the designated assembly point at the front of the building (or as indicated on signage).
  • Report to the staffs or emergency personnel so your safety can be confirmed.

Assess before exiting

  • Check your room door and handle for heat before opening.
  • If hot, do not open the door. Stay inside, seal gaps with towels, and signal for help from a window if safe.
  • If cool, open the door slowly and check for smoke or fire.

Do not re-enter

  • Do not return to the building until advised by emergency services, such as Fire and Rescue NSW.

Evacuate safely

  • Leave immediately using the nearest safe exit (as shown on your room's evacuation diagram).
  • Stay low if there is smoke.
  • Assist others only if it is safe to do so.

Important

Follow all directions given by emergency responders and hotel staff at all times. If after reading this you require further information, please approach the staffs, who will be happy to assist you in any area of potential difficulty.

Section 02

False Fire Alarm Charges

Sareh is equipped with a monitored Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) system connected to Fire and Rescue NSW to ensure guest safety.

Under the Fire Brigades Act 1989 (NSW) (Section 42), Fire and Rescue NSW may charge a fee for attending false fire alarms triggered from monitored systems.

As of 1 December 2010, the false alarm callout fee is $1,760 + GST.

Guest responsibility

If a fire alarm is activated deliberately or accidentally by a guest or occupant, and Fire and Rescue NSW determine the callout to be a chargeable false alarm, the full cost will be charged to the responsible guest's room account.

Important notes

  • Sareh is a strictly non-smoking property.
  • This building is fitted with highly sensitive smoke and heat detectors in all rooms.
  • Smoking inside rooms and other common areas will trigger alarms and may result in:
    • A $550 cleaning fee per room or per location, and
    • Liability for any false alarm callout charges issued by Fire and Rescue NSW.
